What to Build
Your challenge is to develop a website for a new or existing business idea. The website should be a functional, user-friendly, and professional digital representation of that business. Here are some ideas to get your creativity flowing:
-
E-commerce Store: Build a site for a niche product. Focus on a smooth shopping cart, product pages with clear descriptions, and an intuitive checkout process.
-
Service Booking Platform: Create a website for a service-based business like a freelance designer, a pet-sitter, a personal trainer, or a home cleaning service. Include features like a booking calendar, a pricing calculator, and a portfolio or testimonials section.
-
Local Business Directory: Develop a website that helps users find and review local businesses, like restaurants, cafes, or mechanics. Include a search function, a map, and user-generated content features.
-
B2B SaaS Landing Page: Design a compelling landing page for a business-to-business software-as-a-service (SaaS) product. The site should clearly explain the product's value proposition, include a pricing tier, and have a call-to-action for a demo or a free trial.
-
Portfolio Website for a Creative Agency: Create a professional and visually stunning portfolio site for a fictional creative agency (e.g., photography, graphic design, web development). The site should showcase projects, list services, and include a contact form.
-
Community or Non-Profit Website: Build a website for a local community group or non-profit organization. This could include a blog, an events calendar, a donation page, and a volunteer sign-up form.
-
Educational Platform: Develop a site for an online course or tutorial series. It could feature video content, quizzes, and a progress tracker for users.
Key Requirements:
-
Functionality: The website must have at least one core, functional feature that demonstrates your business idea in action.
-
User Experience (UX): The site should be easy to navigate and logically organized.
-
Design: The design should be clean, responsive, and appropriate for the business concept.
What to Submit
To ensure a fair and consistent judging process, all teams must submit the following by the deadline:
-
Project Name and Tagline: A creative name and a short, catchy tagline for your business.
-
Live Website URL: A link to your fully deployed and working website. We recommend using services like Netlify, Vercel, or GitHub Pages for easy deployment.
-
GitHub Repository Link: A public link to your project's GitHub repository, including all source code and a detailed README.md file. The README should clearly outline:
-
The business idea and the problem it solves.
-
The features you built.
-
The technology stack used (languages, frameworks, libraries).
-
Instructions on how to set up and run the project locally.
-
-
Written Description: A brief, one-paragraph summary of your project, its target audience, and its core value proposition.
-
Demo Video: A short video walking us through your website's features. This video should showcase the key functionality and explain your design and development choices.
